432 hz Music: The Power of Tuning the Frequency of Your Music

In many ancient texts, including Vedic, Sumerian, Egyptian and Lumerian, all matter is known to have a specific vibration. It shouldn’t be surprising to discover a connection between the musical vibration we allow into our bodies and the state of our being. Music has a profound and biological effect on the way we behave, think and ultimately the habits we create for ourselves. Studies have proven the psychological and physical power that harsh, lyrically aggressive or sonically disturbing music has on our bodies. Composers of meditation and mindful music have suggested that all frequencies may have an affect our DNA. Composer and musician, Brian T. Collins says, “Changing frequency may also change the electric potential of the brain which may alter and affect memory and perception by the slight change and diamagnetic charge within the water in our cells.”

In the mid-1990s, Japanese water scientist, Masaru Emoto, studied the connection between human consciousness and its relationship to the molecular structure of water. The experiment (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=au4qx_l8KEU) involved two small dishes of water in which he affirmed negative speech into one and positive speech into the other. He froze each dish and what resulted were two very different formations of frozen crystals. The water with positive speech yielded pleasing almost perfect crystallization while the other had deformities. He concluded the pseduscientifc reality of cleaning water through intention, prayer, positive visualization and speech. Considering most humans are approximately 70% water, imagine the kind of effect one song has over the body.

In ancient philosophical texts, music was a fundamental aspect of understanding oneself and the universe. The quadrivium method of education, outlined by Plato and implicit in early Pythagorean writings, was a method of education with four major pillars: Arithmetic, geometry, astronomy and music. Many believed the world was quite literally made of music and to understand oneself and their environment, music was an essential area of study to master (https://www.circeinstitute.org/blog/bring-back-boethius-or-why-musics-quadrivium). The significance of music and it’s faculties may not be considered when listening to everyday music but the effects are substantial.

On of the ways some are consciously choosing to engage with music is by listening to 432hz music. 432hz music is different from ‘regularly’ tuned music due to its frequency. Most music is tuned to a frequency of 440hz but it wasn’t always this way. Other frequencies were standardized upon prior to the standardization of 440 Hz. Some of the greatest musicians tuned their music to a 432hz vibration such as Mozart and Verdi.

What is frequency standardization?

Music frequency standardization is defined as ‘the audio frequency reference to calibrate acoustic equipment and to tune pianos, violins, and other musical instruments.” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A440_(pitch_standard)). The American standard was changed in 1936 after the American Standards Association recommended shifting the A above middle C be tuned to 440hz. It was confirmed by the International organization for Standardization in 1955.

Why is this significant?

According to research, the internationally recognized standard of pitch conflicts with human energy centers (i.e. chakras). Testimonies have suggested that 432hz music is brighter and softer to experience. Listeners have also claimed that 432hz music has a natural tone and allows balance and harmonic octave experience . Famed composer and researcher, Brian T. Collins, claims the standard pitch of 440hz does not harmonize with the natural vibration of the earth, cosmos or frequency of the human body (http://briantcollins.com/btc/what-is-432/).  However, the frequency of 432hz is mathematically consistent with the frequency of the universe and is known to be beneficial for healing, enlightenment and general well-being. 432hz, considered the music of sacred geometry, is mathematically aligned with the golden mean ratio (Fibonacci sequence) and it’s mathematical structure corresponds with all forms of organic life(https://www.gaiameditation.com/golden-ratio/).   It is also the frequency of ‘Om.’ More information about the relationship about the Fibonacci sequence and music here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2pbEarwdusc&feature=youtu.be).

Examples of 432 in nature:

Diameter of sun = 864,000 miles (432 x 2)

Diameter of moon = 2,160 miles (5 x 432 = 2,160)

Precession of the Equinoxes of Earth = 25,920 years (60 x 432)

The current standard of 440hz music has been linked to increased aggression and disruption (https://globalfreedommovement.org/432-dna-tuning-and-the-nazi-ization-of-music/).  Maria Renold, author, musician and eurythmist (expert in rhythmical physical movements to music), suggests that 440Hz tuning “disassociates the connection of consciousness to the body and creates anti-social conditions in humanity” (A=440hz, above scientific “C” Prime=128/256/512 Hz, where A=432 Hz).

440hz music has been linked to Nazi propaganda and tactics. It has been said that Nazi minister Joseph Goebbels insisted on 440 Hz tuning in Germany because he believed it created a prisoner mindset.

What can we do?

Some artists specifically create music in 432hz and this can be identified by basic research. There are downloadable apps that will manually convert your music library to 432hz frequency or as you stream them. Some people have decided to only select 432hz music for meditation or sound therapy experiences.

Considering the way frequencies affect our bodies on a molecular level, ultimately causing harmony or disharmony within our cells, we should think about how it’s affecting our organs, our consciousness and general well-being. Our musical diet is one of the initiatives we can take to maintain a healthy mind and soul.
